“Individualistic cultures navigate life by utilizing a currency of money, but collectivistic cultures navigate life by using a currency of face.” by Mary T. Lederleitner in Cross-Cultural Partnerships

Sharing the Gospel of Christ in an area where nobody has heard of a Creator God, Adam and Eve, or the fall of mankind, is kind of like starting in the middle of a story. Either they won’t see the need for a savior or they will see just another god to put on the shelf alongside their other gods and ancestors.

Even in an area surrounded by churches, cultural boundaries such as language, wealth, caste, status, etc. can create walls that isolate people from each other preventing the spread of the Gospel. Cultural prejudices can also keep people isolated preventing them from hearing and receiving the Gospel. Just being aware of these barriers helps us to understand how to better reach the lost.
